Since 3 years our main event is the film festival Play Poland. It is the largest mobile film event in Britain, aiming at presenting and promoting contemporary Polish cinema. This year Play Poland will be held in the UK, Canada, Norway and China. It means thirteen cities, among which are: Edinburgh, Glasgow, Dundee, Aberdeen, Belfast, New Castle, Sunderland, Birmingham, Oxford, London, Ottawa, Oslo and Shanghai.
During an ongoing four month festival, viewers have the opportunity to watch the latest full and short Polish film productions, meet filmmakers and producers, and take part in exhibitions and concerts.
The festival has already achieved a lot of recognition: firstly the festival has the honorary patronage of The Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in Edinburgh (UK). Secondly, the initiative is supported by: Professor Zbigniew Pełczyński (Director of School Leaders, Poland) and Professor Richard De Marco (founder of The Demarco European Art Foundation, UK).Thirdly, the festival has also been awarded the Quality Mark by the Foundation of the Polish Promotional Emblem and by the contest, "Now Poland".
We are working closely with major cultural institutions, which include: The Polish Film Institute and Wajda Studio (formerly Master School of Film Andrzeja Wajdy). Play Poland also works closely as with film festivals, such as the T-Mobile New Horizons International Film Festival, the Polish Short Film Festival SHORT WAVE and the Cultural Foundation KOMBINAT in Zielona Gora, which organizes Mountain Film Festival.
